Résumé

The major aim of this book is to formulate the principles of economic justice and propose a just economic system which would critically guide Christian praxis in a secular pluralist society in general and in Korea in particular. To achieve this the author first establishes his own theological method that involves the reciprocal relationship between theory and praxis at all levels of inquiry and the reciprocal interactions between philosophical, socio-analytic and hermeneutic mediations.
Following his own theological method he rebuts Hayek's arguments to invalidate the notion of economic justice and arrives at his own principles of economic justice that embody the values of liberty, equality and communality. He then proceeds to propose democratic communitarianism as an alternative just economic system. He goes on to demonstrate that his preceding discussions are firmly based on theological truth.
Finally he shows the relevance of his position on economic justice to his own context, Korea. Although, or to say more correctly, because this book was born out of his concern for the concrete context of Korea, this could give helpful insights to those in other contexts, who are involved in praxis struggling for economic justice.
