Bajari is what some Gypsies called Barcelona. It is an unregistered word to name an invisible city that fascinates all who see it. Through the stories of several families of artists, we discover the legacy of Carmen Amaya and her craft, the best flamenco dancer of all time, born in the Somorrostro neighborhood of Barcelona. Bajari suggests we once again follow the trail of something that should not fade into memory.
Eva Vila Purti (Barcelona, 1975) is the author of the book B-Side (The B-Side of Barcelona's Music, 2008), which became her first music feature film the same name. Musician and guitarist for the Conservatory of Barcelona, Vila Purti also holds a degree in Economics and Humanities from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and a Master's degree in Communication and Art Criticism from the Universitat de Girona.
Since 2003 she has coordinated the Master in Creative Documentary program at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and writes for different publications.
