It is a single-author,  5-part anthology of non-fiction stories written in the Philippine language - Pilipino (Tagalog).  The narratives are accounts about extra-ordinary  figures and events from around the globe at various periods in human history, featuring:  (Part 1) Mother Teresa of Kolkata, Alexander the Great of Macedonia, Helen Keller, Anne Sullivan, Florence Nightingale, Leonardo da Vinci, Abdul Qadir Jilani, Jose 'Pepe' Mujica Cordano of Uruguay, Joan d'Arc, Mahatma Gandhi; (Part 2): Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, St.
Anthony the Great of Egypt, St. Anthony of Padua (Italy), Abraham Lincoln; (Part 3)  Genghis Khan and the Mongolian Empire, Admiral Yi Sun Shin of Korea , Oda Nobunaga and the Sengoku Jidai  of Japan& Shavarsh Karapetyan; (Part 4)   Marie Curie, Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein & Alexander Graham Bell; (Part 5) Fridtjof Nansen and the first crossing of Greenland, Albert Einstein and   Sir Ernest Shackleton and his daring exploration on the Endurance and the Aurora.  Text content has a total of 190, 340 words. The book contains 444 pages with 25 story sub-titles, 49 illustrations, 4 cartographs and 1 planet diagram.
The content was originally written in another Philippine dialect - Ilocano and published in a book with the title "Samut-samot iti Tarikayo" (Cobwebs in Wooden Pillar).   Following the Ilocano book's publication, the narratives were put out in podcast in Ilocano and Tagalog versions under the title "Kuwentong Pilipino sa Tagalog at Ilocano."  This book was based on the Tagalog podcast scripts which have been re-written into print-book format under the title "Samut-Samot sa Punong Haligi."

Norma Hennessy is a Filipino-Australian author, journalist and award-winning artist.  She writes in English, Tagalog and Ilocano.  She writes for a community newspaper in Sydney, NSW (Australia) and broadcasts for community radio with 5EBI-FM in Adelaide, SOuth AUstralia.
