Résumé

These Revised Westminster Standards provide a sound basis for obedience of our LORD God's Dominion Mandate and our Lord Jesus Christ's Great Commission. These Revised Westminster Standards are predominately based upon the later developed content of the 1647 Westminster Confession of Faith, its Shorter, and Larger, catechisms, the associated 1789 PCUSA amendment, and the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession of Faith.
The Revised Shorter, and Revised Larger, catechisms have been aligned and renumbered to better conform to relevant chapter titles of the Revised Westminster Confession of Faith. New catechism questions and answers have been developed to fill the voids left in the original catechisms. For better and clearer appreciation, language, and grammar/sentence structure, has been updated slightly. Amendments incorporated herein address the kingdom of God, Church, covenants, holy ordinances of baptism and Lord's supper, worship, day of worship, and marriage and divorce.
This logical and reasoned progression, of the development of the original Westminster Confessional standards, draws them closer to sound Biblical doctrines. They confront some long-held uninspired traditions. As it matures, historic Presbyterianism will be increasingly Biblically sound, and progressively more like the Sabbatarian Reformed Baptist. These Revised Westminster Standards provide an artifact for further study, discussion, and use, so that the Church can reform and be always reforming: ecclesia reformata, semper reformanda.
