Résumé

Transmission electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) is an analytical technique used to characterize the chemistry, bonding and electronic structure of thin samples of materials and is normally performed in-situ at high spatial resolution in the transmission electron microscope (TEM or STEM). This book provides an up-to-date introduction to the principles and applications of this technique. Specific topics covered include: theory of EELS, experimental aspects, elemental quantification, EELS fine structure, EELS imaging and the use of advanced analytical techniques. Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy is essential reading for undergraduates, postgraduates and researchers in the Physical, Engineering and Biological Sciences who require an up-to-date introduction to this important state-of-the-art microanalytical technique.
