Biographie de Flavia Pappacena

Flavia Pappacena graduated in the Humanities, taking a further advanced diplola at the Academia Nazionale di Danza, where she has lectured in Dance Theory since 1974. Since 1984 she has edited the dance section in the PBA (Piccola Biblioteca delle Arti) series published by Gremese, and since 1993, the journal of dance research "Choregraphic". She has written technical and theoretical studies on classical dance (Tencnica della danza classica : La coordinazione, 1985. L'impostazione, 1986, Il Ritmo, 1988: Teoria della danza classica, vol. 1, 2001; vol. 2, 2002) and edited important texts on the Italian school (including Complete Manual of Classical Dance by G. Cecchettri, 1995-1997). She has also published historical and theoretical studies on XIX-century dance, including Ricostruzione della linea stilistica di Carlo Blasis (2003) and a previously unpublished reconstruction of the gran ballo Excelsior (1998).
