Résumé
To escape from bad memories and nightmares in London, Dido packs up Ben and goes to stay with a childhood friend, Lizzy Waring, in a pretty village in Somerset. The Warings own Monksdanes, an idyllic Georgian mansion, which appears the perfect place for an over-active London native to, rest and recuperate. At first Dido is enchanted by the surroundings, but she quickly realises the postcard beauty is just a facade. A darker reality looms in the shadows. Something has gone terribly wrong with her best friends life. Fighting through a maze of lies and misdemeanours, an accidental killing (or is it a murder with complicated side effects? ) Dido probes deeply to help her friend, making enemies and allies along the way. There is a sinister underbelly to the sleepy picturesque village, and soon Dido discovers a horrifying truth.
