Exile is never a one way street
The richness and acuity of Adichie's social observations never fail to astound the reader in her poignant novel detailing the challengers confronting two Nigerian lovers separated by the foibles of geopolitics. Post 9-11 policies pose a variety of obstacles to a man who simply wants to join his woman experiencing a roller coaster of emotions in the 'land of opportunity' where she sees at first hand the complexity of racial relations. Despite the gravity of the situation, Adichie does not the forget the importance of making us laugh at the unjust absurdities of contemporary life. A novel of universal import. Alfred, Decitre Bellecour

Leaving Nigeria... for what?
A subtle and powerful novel about two characters leaving Nigeria to find a better life somewhere else. But, in the United States as well as in England, things will be very different from what they expected. The main character, Ifemelu, has strength and independance. Her insignt on nigerian and american culture is original and leaves no place for politically correct. A very rich and fascinating novel. A great book!
