Résumé

Explaining Labour's Landslip analyses what happened, and didn't, in the 2005 British general election. Tht Mori polling experts Robert Worcester and Roger Mortimore, joined by political marketing analyst Paul Baines, bring the first comprehensive look at the myths and realities of the election. The interpretative analysis interspersed with charts and figures shows how the electoral landscape shifted under Blair's feet, even as he coasted to victory, a hundred seats short of his 2001 landslide. The authors assess Labour's strategies : wooing the support of younger women and the grey vote. What was the impact on Labour's choices by the Tories' decision to concentrate on their core vote? Explaining Labour's Landslip will be well thumbed by politicians, pundits and everyone interested in what really happened in 2005.
