Die Sonate G-Dur op. 1/3 hat als Sonate von Giuseppe Sammartini Einzug in das Cello-Repertoire gehalten und erfreut sich großer Beliebtheit. Sie ist aber in Wirklichkeit Martin Berteau zuzuordnen. Die vorliegende Ausgabe gibt den Originalnotentext der Solo- und Bassstimme wieder. Die Klavierstimme ist möglichst nahe an der Bezifferung der unter "Signor Martino" veröffentlichten Erstausgabe von 1748 ausgesetzt.
Es erscheint hier auch der vierte Satz, ein Amoroso Rondeau mit Flageolett-Doppelgriffen, der in den Ausgaben der populär gewordenen "Sammartini-Sonate" fehlte. Besetzung : cello and piano op. 1/3
