Annie O'Harran is a harassed single mother the wrong side of thirty. Yet, against all expectations, she has met her hero and is looking ahead to a blissful summer planning the perfect wedding. But first she must meet the horrible deadline set by her publisher. Annie escapes London and heads for the fabulous calm of a writer's retreat in Cornwall - cliff top views, private beach, it's ideal... until the doorbell starts ringing. Everyone, it seems, from her competitive sister and her noisy brood, to her louche ex-husband and his nubile young girlfriend, has had the same idea for their summer holidays.
