Résumé

Designed by the architect Charles Girault for the Universal Exposition of 1900, the Petit Palais enjoys an exceptional location in the center of Paris, between the Seine and the Champs-Elysées. It faces the Grand Palais, with which it forms a splendid ensemble. In 1901 it became the Fine Arts Museum of the City of Paris, and today is home to remarkable collection of 19th and 20th century art. Numerous donations over the years have given it an exceptional collection of art from earlier eras as well.
After five years of work, the Petit Palais has reopened its doors to the public, ready to show off its renewed décor and renovated galleries that have restored the building's original transparence and luminosity.
