Résumé

In just a few years, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin has grown into one of the leading fashion weeks in the world. Twice a year, trends are set, and the limits of creativity are pushed. Alongside established big name designers and international brands, there are young labels and fashion designers who are able to find their audience and buyers. The "Designer for Tomorrow" award gives the next generation of talent the opportunity to show their collections for the first time.
Claudius Holzmann has been documenting the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin since its beginnings. From the nearly 40,000 photographs that have resulted from this work, he has selected those that best capture the atmosphere of fashion week. His images depict not only the shows and collections, but also the rehearsals and the development of the look behind the runway. So it is possible to experience the extensive preparations, the drama during the shows as well as the relieved tension afterwards.
Forewords by designers Anja Gockel and Kilian Kerner, an interview with make-up artist Boris Entrup and additional texts complete this backstage view of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin.
