I knew David would be leaving for Spain this week with the chance to play professional basketball again, and he was so happy about it. Seeing him that happy, along with him being so excited for me and my new Marketing Director position, brought back the good memories that I had of us when we were still together. But ever since I'd slept with Ken again the weekend before starting my job, not to mention the conversation I'd overheard one of Marketing Coordinators having about sleeping with him, I'd been keeping my distance and remaining professional.
Ken tried to talk to me on several occasions about things, but I blew him off as cordially as I could and told him that our relationship would remain strictly business from here on out.
