Résumé

When you are raised inside a small village with a singular religious view their beliefs and customs can become common place, both expected and accepted by the populace. For a select few, their brains don't seem to work that way. Those few cannot simply accept that which has not been explained, that which does not make sense to them. Breena is one of these few. As the youngest daughter of three, with two loving parents, she struggles with the religious practices and beliefs of her community and family.
Morning Glory is but a tiny hamlet tucked away in the ancient Antherris Forest. Farmers with a deep-rooted reverence for the Goddess of Seasons. Trinid, populate its borders. Breena's family are part of these faithful. They have accepted the Pact of Raimalon, brokered by the priestess of their goddess centuries ago with another Goddess who claimed these lands. Kabyss, Goddess of Darkness, called Antherris hers and so a deal was struck for the people to live in the bountiful wood.
That pact is a new season named Raeth. Raeth is a time when daylight fades quickly and darkness prevails. It is a brief yet dangerous season where dark creatures stalk the land and claim the lives of any who dare set foot outside the protection of the light ... or so the stories say. Breena simply cannot accept such fanciful tales that seem designed to hold her family and the rest of Morning Glory in a grip of paralyzing fear.
She dreams of the day when she can follow in her older sister's footsteps and leave this place far behind. She detests the traditions, the obscuring clothing, the lack of daylight, the tales of the dark stalkers, but mostly she detests the fear. What will it take for her family to see the true light and dispose of these old traditions that keep them repressed?

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Bill Mays

I currently live in Commerce City Colorado with my husband two dogs, and two cats, though my work carries me all across the country and beyond the borders as a flight attendant and an instructor for other flight attendants. I have a degree in studio art, have been an actor and professional artist, as well as many other things, but I have found my love for writing which stems from my love of role-playing games and reading.
Fantasy adventure is my absolute favorite, though science fiction follows at a close second. I have learned that writing is good for my soul. I plan to continue writing fantasy books for many years to come!Feel free to contact me at amazingkiddo@aol.com
