Caucasian Jimmy meets shy, young African-American Luulu at a river beach, and becomes instantly enamored of her. She keeps thwarting his cautious advances however, causing him to frequent the river more than he normally would, seeking an opportunity to break through her protective shell. When he finally overcomes her reticence, he is plunged into her world- a poor, bigoted, sick mother, and an abusive, vengeful ex-boyfriend.
Overcoming all obstacles, they fall in love, and she eventually submits to him, fully and perfectly.
