Résumé

The remarkable true story, as seen in the brilliant TV adaptation now showing on Netflix! Murder on the Home Front follows Molly Lefebure as she navigates working for the Home Office's chief forensic pathologist while living in a bomb-stricken London during the second world war. One ordinary day in 1941, forensic pathologist Dr Keith Simpson asks a keen young journalist to be his secretary. Although the 'horrors of secretarial work' don't appeal to Molly Lefebure, she's intrigued to find out exactly what goes on behind a mortuary door.
Capable and curious, 'Miss Molly' quickly becomes indispensible to Dr Simpson as he meticulously pursues the truth. Accompanying him from sombre morgues to London's most gruesome crime scenes, Molly observes and assists the investigations into murders which, despite the war around them, are still being perpetrated.

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Molly Lefebure

Molly Lefebure started her writing career as a newspaper reporter in East London during the Blitz. She then worked for many years as the private secretary to acclaimed forensic pathologist Dr Keith Simpson, head of the Department of Forensic Medicine at Guy's Hospital. She is the author of several children's books and a memoir of her time working with Dr Simpson, Murder on the Home Front, which has been adapted for television.
She was a Coleridge scholar and wrote two acclaimed books on the poet, and she was also elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2010. Her two novels for adults, Blitz! and Thunder in the Sky, are sweeping historical sagas and they are closely based on her own experiences during the Second World War. Molly sadly passed away in 2013 but her memory lives on through her writing.
