Résumé

Two centuries have passed since a global catastrophe reduced the human male population by 95%. After violently refusing to live in a world where women are the majority, the remaining men were exiled onto wildlife reserves built across the continents of Ryamana and Alzaera, as well as the island of Valens, where they devolved into beasts. Used by society whenever necessary, they are often hunted and sedated by the women, sometimes for research but often just for sport.
Our story begins when Rene, a young woman just finishing school, falls in love with the first man she hunts. She cares for him, nurtures his neglected intelligence, gives him a name, Ben, and builds a life and world with him away from the family and friends who bully her for being different. They build their own little life together, away from each other's respective worlds. But in doing so, laws are broken, dangers are encountered, and their secret romance grows more difficult to conceal each time they meet.
Rene and Ben's tragic romance blossoms at the worst possible time, as an unforeseen male rebellion confirms society's worst fears about the consequences of any failure to solve the 'male problem'. Caught in the middle of the genders and forced to leave her homeland of Ryamana, Rene is forced to reckon with her perhaps misplaced trust in a man when she is kidnapped by a rampaging horde on Valens. Those closest to her are also forced to make decisions that will change the course of humanity forever as they fight to rescue her and thousands of other women as well as solve the 'male problem' once and for all...
