Résumé

The moment Cupid's arrow strikes, Jason knows he's in for a challenging hunt. No vampire with any sense would approach a mortal under Heaven's protection, so the fact that he is directed by a god fills him with both uncertainty and excitement. Infiltrating the police and gaining her guardian's tolerance is only the beginning of his challenges. When his interest in the young officer attracts the attention of ancient and powerful enemies, his entire realm falls under extreme danger.
As the situation degrades and the cost rises, he realizes that this time it will take more than a Golden Fleece to set things right. When the state chooses Carrington to pilot a special victims program, Mirissa and her partner, Max, sign up. But on her first under cover assignment, a presuming man steps in to protect her, spoiling what might be an important bust. When he shows up at the precinct a week later, introducing himself as Dr.
Jason Thessalydis, an expert in criminal behavior, her instinctive alarms kick into high gear. Only Max understands her unsettling feeling that Jason is there for her. But as time progresses, she begins to suspect he is the only man who can help her overcome her traumatic past.
