After more than a week aboard a ship, Marsali has stumbled off the docks and into the heart of King Kilian, the Red Dragon. Perhaps it was the way her eyes sparkled in the sunlight or the way she seemed to move so gracefully across the courtyard in service to the visiting queen. Kilian found himself mesmerized by Marsali and desperately wished to meet her. Marsali is herself enamored by Kilian, but is unsure of his intentions.
One thing she does know, is that things would not go well for her if her King and Queen found out she was romantically involved with a rival. Relations between Kilian and Marsali's king aren't at their best and it wouldn't take much to restart the bloodshed. If caught with Kilian she could herself be executed for treason! Neither of them can let the other go without confessing their feelings, but is the risk of getting caught too high to give in to their passion? In spite of it all can they find a way to be together?
