Résumé

A Dark Faerie Tale, is a blended retelling of Snow White, the Snow Queen and other fairy tales, with action/adventure and a magical touch of romance. Book 1: Kingdom of IcePrincess Khione craves her vain and heartless mother's love. After her beloved father dies, she despairs at ever finding love and happiness again. The only comfort she finds is in her nursemaid and her nursemaid's daughter. Years later, Khione's jealous mother orchestrates an event that nearly ends her life.
Forced to flee into the Forsaken Forest, the home of the Fae, Khione finds something she could have never imagined. Banished from the lands of Turia, Agnes and Gerda try to start a new life in the nearby Kingdom of Agraunia. They share a small garret room with Agnes's widowed mother, Matilda. There, Gerda befriends her neighbour's son, Kai, who is an apprentice to a Blacksmith. Their close friendship eventually blossoms into love.
Their short-lived happiness comes to a halt with Kai's cold, distance demeanour. After he disappears after being seen with a strange woman in white, rumours persist that he is dead. Only Gerda knows he is still alive. The place he touched deepest in her heart makes it hard for her to accept any other truth but her instincts scream at her that he is in danger. With no one willing to help, Gerda sets out alone to rescue him, unaware of the dangers outside of her sheltered life as the nursemaid's daughter.
Book 2: Queen of ThornsPrincess Khione travels to Agraunia with Gerda and Kai, in order to protect those who sheltered her from her wicked mother, Queen Eleanor. She intends to seek sanctuary at Tormain Palace, the home of her mother's cousin, Queen Katrina. However, life there is not how she imagined and she discovers that the apparently impeccable, Crown Prince Tristan is harbouring scandalous secrets.
Meanwhile, Gerda and Kai's wedding plans are about to be shattered by some heartbreaking news. The suspected return of the Snow Queen also puts their future in jeopardy. Eleanor decides to move forward her political and personal alliance with King Wilbur. A decision she may yet regret. Book 3: Reign of FireAfter a revealing chain of events, Rose, the true heir to the throne of Turia, returns with her faerie godmothers.
Upon arriving at her former summer residence, she finds some unexpected houseguests: A girl in a red cloak and a wolf. Along with Khione and her friends, they volunteer to help her depose Queen Eleanor, a task that may prove more than difficult. As her nuptials to the King Wilbur draw near, Eleanor's association with Silvia proves to be potentially dangerous. Strong willed Princess Eliza finds her new stepmother intolerable, but is horrified to discover the extent of her father's cruelty.
Wilbur's machinations are dealt a severe blow, which threatens to re-ignite hostilities between humans and fae. Will this faerie tale have a happily ever after?Novella: Solstice (A Kingdom of Ice Novella)Solstice is the partial retelling of Kingdom of Ice, Book 1 of A Dark Faerie Tale Trilogy, told from Khione's (the Snow White character) POV. It can be read by those who haven't read Kingdom of Ice and for those who have, it adds another dimension to the story.
Also included are two additional chapters. The peaceful Kingdom of Turia awaits the birth of their king and queen's first child, but a cruel twist of fate and a demon's intervention destroys their lives forever. Years later, events orchestrated by Queen Eleanor, Princess Khione's heartless and jealous mother, takes away her freedom and almost her life. She is forced to flee into a nearby forest inhabited by fae.
