Vincent Brunot was born in 1964 in the Paris suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt. He studied art in Paris, first at the Atelier Leconte, then at ENSAD, from whose engraving department he graduated in 1990 with a collection of dry point illustrations of Paris, accompanied by extracts from Georges Perec's Espèces d'Espaces. Some months later, he joined Gallimard as an illustrator and cartographer, working in particular on the Guides collection, with its bird's-eye views of cities, regions and countries.
In 1998 he went freelance in order to extend the scope of his activities. He works in France and Italy for publishing houses, magazines and institutions such as the Parcs Naturels, the Conservatoire du Littoral and the Conservation du Patrimoine, and for groups such as EDF-France and Euro Disney. He puts on regular exhibitions of drawings and watercolours, and has taught drawing in Trieste, notably in the city's schools and museums.
Since 2009 he has been working with Eppinger, a confectioner in Trieste, on a series of drawings and calligraphies for their packaging, a limited edition of coffee cups and a mural for their restaurant-shop. Laurent Bonzon was born in 1964 in Mâcon, on the banks of the Saône, and now lives in Lyon. He works as a journalist and translator, and is the co-author, with Denis Bretin, of several thrillers, as well as a film, Matière Noire, with Andrzej Zulawski.
He has translated works by German authors including Ernst Bloch, Friedrich Hôlderlin and Franz Marc, and has published works with photographers such as Jacques Damez. He writes a regular column on thrillers in Luxembourg's Tageblatt.
