ThinkingJewellery Two reports on the differing perspectives in our quest to establish a theory of jewellery. The series ThinkingJewellery arose from the symposium series of the same name. Both are punctuated by exemplary specialist jewellery expertise alongside objective observations from academics on the phenomenon of jewellery. Only an interdisciplinary approach such as this makes it possible to determine the position of jewellery within the context of art and design in our contemporary society.
ThinkingJewellery Two features a contribution by Wilhelm Lindemann on the historical development of the crystalline, an essay by Olaf Müller, who introduces thoughts on Goethe's work relating to physical phenomena connected to gemstones, and a text by Regine Prange on the glittering world of Jeff Koons and its relation to Andy Warhol.
