Ulrich Trottenberg is the Director of SCAI and a Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Cologne. Cornelis Oosterleev is a Senior Scientist at SCAI and a Lecturer at the University of Cologne. Anton Schüller is a Senior Scientist and Head of the Computational Fluid Dynamics Department at SCAI. Their research interests are in multigrid methods for scientific applications, including computational fluid dynamics, structural mechanics, meteorology, computational chemistry and parallel computing. The three guest contributions from leading experts Klaus Stüben, Peter Oswald and Achi Brandt bring to readers an overview of the latest research in algebraic multigrid, subspace correction multigrid theory, and top multigrid efficiency in computational fluid dynamics.
