English for the Computer World is a specialised English course reflecting the latest developments in computers and their applications. It is designed for students (studying for the BTS, for example), or for people who already work in this field and want to improve their knowledge of the specific English they need.
The course is divided into units, each of which covers a particular subject area (programming, robotics, sofware, etc.)
Extracts from technical journals, manuals, etc. are presented in such a way as to make the course accessible to teachers and students who may or may not be computer specialists.
English for the Computer World covers the four language skills, and activities range from controlled vocabulary and translation exercises to freer discussion and decision-making activities.
English for the Computer World is also :
- a teacher's guide/"corrigé"
- a set of two cassettes
