JOHN LANZENDORF is a dinosaur art collector by avocation and a well-known hair stylist working from a salon along Chicago's famous Magnificent Mile. His collection and admittedly obsessive interest in dinosaurs are without equal. His active support of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology has been illustrated by three new Society awards intended for contributions to paleo-art.
PHILIP J. CURRIE is the Curator of Dinosaurs at the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada, and an adjunct professor at the University of Calgary. He is the author of many books and scientific papers. His work has been reported on by the New York Times, National Geographic, the PBS Nova series, and a CBS special, as well as other media. With Chinese colleagues lie helped bring to light the first "feathered dinosaurs." His many expeditions to North and South America and Asia continue to unearth new fossils that bear upon both old and new questions of the history of life.
MlCHAEL TROPEA is a prominent Chicago photographer. He was the primary photographer for A Collecting Odyssey, a book cataloging the Alsdorf collections in the Art Institute of Chicago. His credits also include work for famous auction houses such as Christie's and Sotheby's, well-known book publishers such as Harry Abrams, Inc., large corporations such as CitiBank and Sara Lee, the MacArthur Foundation, and numerous museums and galleries.
