Leadership starts within each of us and within our individual worlds defined by those we interact with routinely. It includes family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and those we depend on to make our individual worlds function as happy and healthy places. Within each of these individual places are opportunities to learn through interactions with others and challenges we face. Leadership is about understanding others and molding their opportunities to match their strengths.
This takes an appreciation and awareness for others that is part instinct and part skill. Even persons who consider themselves natural-born leaders need skill development to make the most of leading others. This book addresses areas of skill development essential for effective leadership.
