Biographie de Ha Jin
Ha Jin was born in 1956 in Liaoning, China and spent six years serving in the People's Liberation Army. He left China in 1985 for the United States, where he earned a Ph.D. at Brandeis University. He is the author of two books of poetry; two, collections of stories, Ocean of Words, which won the PEN/Hemingway Award in 1997, and Under the Red Flag, which won the Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction in 1996; and In The Pond, a novel. Waiting is the winner of the 1999 National Book Award for Fiction, and the 2000 PEN/Faulkner Award. He lives near Atlanta, where he is a professor of English at Emory University.
