Résumé
The 1960 coup attempt against Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem was the result of dissatisfaction among the South Vietnamese officer corps with this CIA backed puppet, in addition to disillusionment among these men with Diem's sister-in-law Madame Nhu and Diem's brother, the husband of Madame Nhu, a man by the name of Ngo Dinh Nhu. Ngo Dinh Nhu was Diem's security adviser who commanded the South Vietnamese Special Forces, in addition to various secret and private squads.
Read about the 1960's coup attempts, in addition to why JFK thought Madame Nhu was responsible for the Buddhist crisis that ultimately led to CIA officials allowing the 1963 coup that killed Diem, without Kennedy's knowledge.
