Der Band 2 der zweisprachigen Ausgabe der "Loci praecipui theologici" von 1559 bringt nun auf 518 Seiten die zweite Hälfte von Melanchthons Hauptwerk. Ediert werden so wichtige Lehrstücke wie die Lehre von der Kirche, von den Sakramenten und von der Prädestination, mit denen der späte Melanchthon Position innerhalb der reformatorischen Debatten bezieht. Wichtig ist zudem auch seine Trostlehre "De calamitatibus et de cruce et de veris consolationibus", welche die Frömmigkeit des Luthertums nachhaltig prägen sollte.
Der Band wird abgeschlossen mit Registern für Bibelstellen, Begriffe, Nichtbiblische Namen, sowie Orts-, Völker- und Gruppennamen, welche sowohl die Einträge für Bd.1 als auch für Bd.2 enthalten. Volume 2 of the bilingual edition of the "Loci praecipui theologici" of 1559 now contains on 518 pages the second half of Melanchthon's major work.
