A series of bizarre murders occurred around the time of investigations of LBJ cronyman Billie Sol Estes in the 1960's. Estes, after release from incarceration in 1983 testified voluntarily in 1984 that LBJ had ordered his hitman Malcolm Wallace to murder government investigators into the Estes's fake fertilizer tank,  cattle mortgage scandal that ripped off farmers in Texas. Estes stated in his testimony to a Texas jury that Johnson ordered the hit of Texas Ag investigator Henry Marshall using bagman fixer Wallace while he was vice president to cover up his involvement in Estes's various Texas conspiracies involving cotton allotments, land, cattle and fertilizer tanks.
Estes stated he gave millions of dollars to LBJ while Johnson was vice president.
