Résumé

The federal FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) and U. S. Marshals stand-off at Ruby Ridge, Idaho, between these agencies and the Weavers, led by Randy Weaver resulted in the death of Randy Weaver's wife Vicki Weaver, Randy Weaver's 14-year-old son Sammy Weaver, and Deputy U. S. Marshal William Degan. The raid on the compound cabin of Randy Weaver first began as a U. S.
Marshals reconnaissance mission against the Weaver property in preparation to apprehend Randy Weaver after Weaver sold two illegally modified sawed-off shot guns to an undercover Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives informant and did not show up for his Feb. 20, 1991 trial date to face charges for federal firearms violations. Yet, Weaver was not sent the right court date from his probation officer, who wrote in a letter that the date of Randy Weaver's trial was March 20, 1992.
In addition to this confusion, Randy Weaver was entrapped into selling the sawed-off shotguns by the informant that deliberately persuaded Weaver to saw the barrels off the shotguns he sold the informant below the legal federal length. Read in this informative report about how the Ruby Ridge situation got out of control after U. S. Marshals Special Operations Group (SOG) operators lurking around Randy Weaver's property shot Randy Weaver's golden retriever Labrador dog Striker because the dog started barking and the team that was on this deadly mission to apprehend Weaver, who was deemed a fugitive from justice, did not want to be discovered.
Learn about how the shooting of the dog led to a shoot out between the SOG group of the U. S. Marshals and Randy Weaver's son Sammy Weaver, in addition to Weaver family friend Kevin Harris. Learn about how the FBI overreacted and the Sniper Team 4 of the FBI (HRT) Hostage Rescue Team shot into Randy Weaver's cabin in an attempt to take out Randy Weaver and Kevin Harris, but instead killed Randy Weaver's wife Vicki Weaver with a sniper rifle shot fired from a 700 single shot target sniper rifle.
After surrendering at Ruby Ridge and serving 14 months in jail, the former U. S. Special Forces soldier Randy Weaver was eventually awarded $100, 000 from the U. S. government for the deaths of his son, Sammy Weaver and his wife Vicki Weaver, while Randy Weaver's three daughters, Rachel, Sara and Elishba received $1 million each for the deaths of their mother and brother. Find out how Randy Weaver becoming associated with Aryan Nations resulted in Weaver being a target for a BATFE sting operation that entrapped Weaver into selling illegal weapons during a time when he was desperate for money and how the Weaver family's move from Cedar Falls, Iowa, to Naples, Idaho, resulted in this horrific event of being trapped by informants that then led to the deadly siege at Ruby Ridge.
