Whitney and Skylar met at a downtown hotel to negotiate the terms of a new contract between their two companies over dinner. Terms were being negotiated on a new and lucrative contract with Whitney's firm, and it had fallen to Skylar to negotiate over the contract with Whitney, who had already made some tough demands. Skylar knew she could arrange a good deal on her companies behalf, if she didn't let Whitney walk all over her.
The waiter came over and they ordered their meal. Before the food was brought to their table Whitney began to discuss the terms of the deal instead of making the usual, polite small talk over the meal. Skylar knew the details, so she didn't have to get her papers out and when Whitney made some strong demands Skylar held her ground. She knew that for Whitney to be spending time over this deal because they wanted her to play hardball.
Skylar's gut told her that this  was in some way personal and made her dig in and negotiate back just as hard. They had secured a deal before they had even got to the coffees. The papers were signed, Whitney to relaxed a little, and asked go to the bar and have a drink and talk. Whitney asked several off the wall questions sipping her drink, then she asked a question Skylar never saw coming. But she then what this entire game was about.
