A Sapphic Soliloquy

Jill and Lori's relationship takes a major blow when Jill falls to the temptation of another woman, and Lori finds out from her well-meaning friends. Filled with righteous indignation and a broken heart Lori relates the entire ordeal to us. We see all that happens through her eyes. Jill's sincere acts of contrition fail to ease the hurt Lori is feeling and she moves from Jill's place and wallows in self-pity, and anger.
Despite the urging of her sister and close friends, Lori is not ready to resume her social life. Her life is reduced to work and home. Until a close friend invites her to a party when there is no chance of meeting up with Jill. Whether it was a coincidence or not, Jill does show up at the party. Jill is treated like a pariah and quickly whisks Lori off for a private conversation. The conversation starts off intense, then as Jill humbly apologizes for hurting Lori, something in Lori changes.
The anger is gone, but not the hurt. Jill leaves the party optimistic, and Lori is more confused than ever.
