Résumé
This book is not here to sell you Cebu City. If you want the glossy version-drone shots, infinity pools, "hidden gems, " and someone calling a traffic jam "vibrant city energy"-you already know where to find it. This guide is for the part nobody puts in the thumbnail: what it feels like on an ordinary Tuesday, when the heat is heavy, the streets are packed, your plans get slowed down, and you realize the "quick hop to the beach" was a lie you absorbed without noticing. Cebu City can be a strong base.
It has services, hospitals, schools, malls, flights, and access to the Visayas. It can also grind you down if you choose it for the wrong reason-especially if you arrive expecting "island life" inside a dense urban core. So here's the rule for this book: no hype, no fantasy, no flattery. If something is convenient, I'll say it. If something is a pain, I'll say it. If your plan depends on wishful thinking, I'll point it out before Cebu does.
