The Hilsa Fish Story

Rahmat Ali, a poor but devoted father, struggles to provide for his seven-year-old daughter, Moyna, after the death of her mother. When Moyna innocently expresses a desire to taste ilish fish, Rahmat is heartbroken, knowing he cannot afford such a luxury. Desperate to fulfill her wish, he humbly requests an advance from his wealthy employer, Mr. Mondol, only to be met with humiliation and scorn. Fate takes a cruel turn when a kind-hearted guest at Mondol's house offers Rahmat a piece of ilish fish.
Just as he grasps this small blessing, Mondol wrongly accuses him of theft. Beaten and disgraced, Rahmat returns home, his body weak and spirit shattered. Without medical care, his condition worsens, and he tragically succumbs to his illness, leaving Moyna orphaned. As she cries over her father's lifeless body, Moyna realizes a harsh truth-dreams are a privilege of the wealthy, while the poor are punished even for the smallest desires.
