Résumé

The town lay quiet under the moonlight, and the only sounds were their soft footsteps against the dusty road. Rohmot's sharp eyes never lost sight of Bakir, whose destination remained unknown. Where was he going? And why did he have to leave in the dead of night?Questions hung in the air as the pursuit continued-Shiuli and her father creeping behind like silent hunters, waiting for their moment to strike.aker runs desperately through the darkness and arrives at a brothel.
His wife and father-in-law follow him, staying hidden as they watch his actions. Suddenly, an elderly prostitute named Jahanara steps out and asks, "Who is it? Do you need anything?" But as soon as she sees Baker, she is stunned. Baker collapses to the ground, clutching Jahanara's feet and sobbing, "Mother! Mother! I have searched for you everywhere, Mother. Where have you been all these years?"Jahanara recognizes Baker but quickly withdraws her feet and pretends not to know him.
"Mother? Who are you calling Mother? I am no one's mother. You are mistaken. Women like us can never be mothers."From their hiding place, Baker's wife and father-in-law are left speechless. Overcome with emotions, they rush forward. Baker continues crying, "Mother, I know you recognize me!"Jahanara sternly denies, "No, no! I don't know you. Leave this place at once!"At that moment, Baker's father-in-law, Rahmat Ali, steps forward and asks, "Son-in-law, is she really your mother?"Through his tears, Baker nods, "Yes, she is my stepmother.
I have searched for her in brothels for so long."He then bursts into uncontrollable sobs and continues, "Do you know? My birth mother passed away when I was very young. When my father married her, she raised me like her own son. She starved herself to feed me. But fate was cruel. She disappeared into the darkness, and I could never find her."Rahmat Ali, astonished, exclaims, "Unbelievable! A stepmother is never truly considered family, yet yours..."Baker continues weeping.
"I suffered from a severe illness and needed a lot of money for treatment. To save me, my mother sacrificed herself to this dark life. And after that, I never saw her again."Jahanara, now trembling, whispers, "I had no choice, my son. I had to choose between your life and my dignity. I chose you. Every night, I prayed for your well-being, wondering if you were safe, if you had enough to eat. The only thing that kept me alive in this hell was the hope that you would live."Overcome with emotion, Baker embraces Jahanara and cries, "Mother, come with me! I haven't been able to sleep peacefully for 22 years without you!"Jahanara can no longer hold back her emotions.
She breaks down, embracing Baker, showering him with motherly affection. The cries of the son blend with the tears of the mother, creating an overwhelming moment of love and loss. Memories of their past flood her mind. She recalls the nights when Baker was just a child, clinging to her as she sang lullabies to put him to sleep. She remembers his laughter, his tiny hands gripping hers, and how she held his feverish body through long nights.
Now, after so many years of longing and suffering, her son had found her. Shuli and Rahmat, deeply moved, could not hold back their tears. They had misunderstood Baker for so long. Realizing their mistake, Shuli asks for his forgiveness. "I never knew, Baker. I doubted you, I questioned you, but I never understood your pain. Forgive me."
