Résumé

Harun was the son of a poor family, struggling through hardships to complete his education. Despite his efforts, he remained unemployed. However, his heart found solace in Tanvi, a smart and beautiful young woman he had fallen deeply in love with. It had been days since he last saw her, and the longing became unbearable. One evening, unable to resist, Harun sneaked into Tanvi's house and entered her bedroom.
Tanvi was startled to see him. "Harun! How did you get in? If my mother sees you here, it will be a disaster! You have no idea how terrifying she can be!"Before Harun could respond, they heard Tanvi's mother calling her name, approaching the bedroom. In a panic, Tanvi pushed Harun under her bed. Her mother entered, looking serious. "Tanvi, I have arranged your marriage to a wealthy businessman. This is the best decision for you."Tanvi protested, "But, Ma! I love someone else! I want to marry him!"Her mother raised an eyebrow.
"Oh really? And who is this young man? Bring him home so I can meet him."Tanvi hesitated for a moment and then, with a smirk, said, "He is already here. Under my bed."Harun crawled out awkwardly and greeted Tanvi's mother with a respectful bow. "Salam, Aunty."Her mother eyed him suspiciously. "What does your father do?"Harun, smiling with pride, replied, "When my father dies, he leaves behind 250 taka.""What?!" Tanvi's mother gasped, her eyes widening.
"What kind of job is that?"Harun, still beaming, clarified, "My father is a rickshaw puller."The revelation made Tanvi's mother nearly faint. Regaining her composure, she asked, "And what do you do?"Harun sighed, "I have completed my studies, but I am currently unemployed."Tanvi's mother folded her arms. "I have no objection to you being a rickshaw puller's son. But if you want to marry my daughter, prove yourself.
Stand on your own feet and become successful. Until then, don't even think about coming near this house again. Now, leave."Heartbroken, Harun turned to go, but then he heard Tanvi's mother resume her conversation, "Now, as I was saying, Tanvi, your wedding is set-"Before she could finish, Harun stormed back in."You again?!" Tanvi's mother exclaimed. "Why did you come back?"Harun smiled, "I know I may never see Tanvi again.
So, I wanted to say my final goodbye. There's something important I need to tell her."Before anyone could react, he grabbed Tanvi's hand and pulled her into the next room. Curious, her mother tiptoed to the window to eavesdrop."Tanvi, " Harun whispered passionately, "I love you. Will you wait for me until I become successful? If you don't wait for me, then let me tell you-your father is not your real father!"At that moment, the door burst open, and Tanvi's mother stormed in.
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!"Harun, startled, stammered, "I-I didn't say anything about your husband!"Fuming, she pointed at the door. "GET OUT!"Harun turned to leave but suddenly stopped. Tanvi's mother shot him a glare. "Why are you still here?!"Harun hesitated. "Umm. I left my leather shoes under the bed. My father worked so hard pulling rickshaws to buy them for me."Rolling her eyes, Tanvi's mother let him retrieve them.
As he picked up his shoes, he turned to Tanvi and said, "If you don't wait for me, remember-your father is still not your father!"Saying this, he dashed out of the house before Tanvi's mother could chase him down. Tanvi stood there, torn between laughter and tears, while her mother fumed in exasperation. One thing was certain-Harun would never be forgotten.
