Résumé

They keep telling you a robot is coming for your job. Here's what they don't tell you: the people who thrive in the AI era won't be the ones who hid from it - they'll be the ones who learned to work with it. Still Standing is the calm, honest, practical guide to keeping and growing your career while everything changes around you. No panic, no false comfort - just a clear plan any professional can follow: understand what AI really changes about your role (and what it can't touch), become the person who uses it brilliantly, double down on the human skills that are rising in value, make your work impossible to overlook, and build a safety net so you're never at anyone's mercy.
Whatever your job, you have far more power than the headlines suggest. This book helps you use it - starting today.
Jonathan Hirasawa Ashton is a marketing and communications leader with a background in technology law, who has spent more than twenty years - the last fifteen in the Gulf - helping organisations understand and adopt emerging technology. He holds an LLM in Technology, Media & Telecommunications Law from Queen Mary University of London, with a dissertation on AI, ethics and intellectual property, alongside executive study at Oxford's Saïd Business School and an MA from the University of Glasgow.
He writes the Common Ground newsletter, and a growing series of plain-English guides that make new technology feel obvious rather than intimidating. Born in Britain and based in Dubai, he believes most people don't need to become experts in AI - they just need to know how to ask.
