Résumé

She was raised to reverence life. They want to train her to end it. Elspeth Dumont has a gift she cannot silence: she senses death. Born a living banshee, she has spent her entire life hidden away in a quiet abbey, schooled in scripture and mercy, desperate to be ordinary. But the moment her mother ships her off to Ravenswolde, a brooding, fog-wrapped castle perched at the edge of the known world, ordinary becomes a luxury she can no longer afford.
Ravenswolde is no finishing school. Behind its ancient stone walls and enchanted corridors lies the most exclusive and most lethal secret academy in all of Europe. Its students are the heirs of powerful, shadowy dynasties. Its curriculum covers poison, seduction, shapeshifting, and the mastery of death in all its elegant forms. And its most dangerous instructor is not found in any classroom. Lucian Graystoke is the enigmatic, ruthless son of the headmistress, a man who bends Ravenswolde's army of restless spirits to his will as easily as he bends hearts.
Alluring, calculating, and utterly relentless, Lucian recognizes the rare and raw power Elspeth carries within her. He does not want to destroy it. He wants to own it and he will use every weapon at his disposal to reshape her into something she was never meant to become. The castle will not let her leave. No matter how many escape routes she maps, no matter how many walls she climbs or enchantments she tests, Ravenswolde holds her fast.
Ghosts haunt her every corridor. A sentient magical library records her every action, every sin, every compromise, a living ledger of the soul she is slowly losing. And with each lesson in deception and death, the line between who Elspeth was and who Ravenswolde is turning her into grows thinner and more dangerous. To survive, she must become what she fears most. But at what cost?Ravenswolde is a darkly atmospheric gothic fantasy brimming with slow-burn romantic tension, supernatural mystery, morally complex characters, and a world where magic is as seductive as it is sinister.
Perfect for fans of Leigh Bardugo's Six of Crows, Alexis Henderson's The Year of the Witching, and dark academia romance with gothic twists. ? Secret assassin academy? Living banshee protagonist? Brooding, dangerous love interest? Gothic castle setting? Ghosts, magic, and moral corruption? Slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers tension? Dark academia fantasyIf you love gothic fantasy novels, dark academy romance, supernatural heroines, and stories where the line between villain and hero dissolves like ink in black water - Ravenswolde will not let you go.

Charity Bishop is funny, quirky, analytical, a little sentimental, and occasionally forgetful, with an offbeat sense of humor, a tendency to like sci-fi, and a storehouse of knowledge about "useless trivia." She gets fixated on learning things, and obsesses over them until she knows everything there is to know about them, then looks for something new to learn. She gets bored with "same-ness, " but is good at impartiality and seeing both sides in an argument.
In fact, she's likely to argue both sides for the sheer fun of it. She grew up in the church and was saved at a young age, but re-evaluated and re-dedicated her life to Christ three years ago. Since then, God has encouraged her to trust Him with her life and future - which sometimes is an uphill battle for a stubborn girl. As she struggles with understanding His ways along with her characters, He gently reveals the answers.
He's her co-author, both in the stories she tells and in her very own story. Her day job is a magazine editor, and her hobbies (other than writing books) include over-analyzing everything she comes into contact with, vigorously defending various incarnations of Sherlock Holmes against perceived injustices, irritating her friends with theological musings, and MBTI typing fictional characters.
