Ouachita Apocalypse: Blood and Decay Written By Melissa Holt

In the remote and rugged Ouachita Mountains of Oklahoma, a secret government research facility harbors a dark ambition: to create a virus that can enhance human capabilities. Known as Covid-22, this experimental virus was meant to revolutionize medicine. However, something went wrong. Instead of improving life, it reanimates the dead, turning them into ravenous, undead predators. Maya Rodriguez, a dedicated park ranger, and David Miller, a reclusive survivalist, are thrust into the heart of an unfolding apocalypse in a small town near the Ouachita Mountains.
They quickly join forces with other survivors, including Dr. Olivia a virologist who was part of the original project. The survivors establish a base in an old ranger station, fortifying it against the relentless onslaught of zombies. As they piece together fragmented broadcasts and distressed signals, the grim reality of Covid-22 emerges an insidious virus with symptoms ranging from upset stomach and prolonged fever to severe confusion, delusions, hallucinations, and an insatiable hunger for human flesh.
