This book was born out of a simple but profound realization: war, as we know it from history books and the news, is changing radically. Images of advancing tanks, massive bombardments, and trenches, while still relevant in certain conflicts, increasingly fail to represent the full scope of contemporary warfare.
The 21st century has brought with it a strategic revolution that many have not yet fully grasped.
War has, to a large extent, become invisible. It is waged in the electromagnetic spectrum, in computer networks, in satellites in orbit, in artificial intelligence algorithms, and in the perceptions of populations. The goal is no longer just to destroy the enemy army; it is to cripple the entire system of an adversary country. Throughout these pages, I have sought to present a comprehensive view of this transformation.
This book is not a technical manual intended exclusively for military personnel, nor is it an academic treatise aimed solely at researchers.
