50 Jahre nach Erich Maria Remarques Tod werden von der aktuellen Remarque-Forschung auch bislang wenig beachtete Aspekte vermehrt in den Blick genommen. Die Beiträge dieses Bandes, die auf eine Tagung zum 50. Todestag an der schlesischen Universität Katowice/Sosnowiec zurückgehen, betrachten daher neben den klassischen Romanen so unterschiedliche Werke wie die frühen Romane oder die Erzählungen zum Ersten Weltkrieg.
Zum Teil erstmals werden die Interviews Remarques, seine aktuelle Rezeption in unterschiedlichen Kultur- und Sprachräumen, die Adaption der Werke in Medien wie Graphic Novels und ihre internationale Verwendung im universitären und schulischen Unterricht untersucht und dargestellt. 50 years after the death of Erich Maria Remarque the research on Remarque intensifies its focus on hitherto almost unnoticed aspects.
The contributions of this volume, which were created on a conference to mark the 50th anniversary of his death at the Silesian University Katowice/Sosnowiec, therefore not only focus on his popular novels but also on various works like his early novels or narratives on World War I. In parts for the first time, Remarque's interviews, his recent reception in various cultural and linguistic regions, the adaptation of his works in media e.g.
graphic novels and its international application in both universities and schools are being highlighted.
