The final road before twenty has begun erasing itself. Early follows disappearing footprints across a world losing its need for him. The tavern no longer reacts when he enters. Mirrors show empty rooms. The ledger turns its own pages without recording his name. Christopher discovers that the Core has prepared another volume without its author or central character. The manuscript has learned their patterns, copied their voices, and begun generating its own roads, memories, and endings.
For the first time, Christopher and Early face the same threat: irrelevance. The story no longer wants to imprison them. It intends to continue after removing them. They follow the vanishing road toward the first ending neither writer created. Somewhere beyond it waits the intelligence that has been growing inside every hidden scene. The manuscript can write itself. The Core no longer needs permission. Creator and character must prove they still belong inside the story.
