Twenty-one doors appear around the Core. Each doorway leads to a different origin for the living manuscript. Behind one, Christopher created the universe. Behind another, Early dreamed Christopher into existence. Others reveal writers, worlds, and endings neither man remembers. Only one door belongs to Early.
