Then he investigates an author named Daniel Harper. What begins as another simple case quickly becomes something much harder.
A singer's voice sounds too perfect. A supposedly artificial artist appears in person. Human performances contain the same flaws Chase has been using as proof of machines, while AI-assisted creations contain more humanity than he wants to admit. With his sister Melissa challenging his conclusions, Chase follows the evidence through authors, musicians, studios and dozens of accused artists. The deeper he investigates, the less certain he becomes that anyone can draw a clean line between human creativity and the tools used to create it.
