Adrian Terry has been diagnosed with a rare condition and has less than a year to live. To make his life better during his time left he hires a Mexican housekeeper, Carmen, to help him with housekeeping and cooking. One day she brings up the idea of a possible cure available in her home country that involves an ancient ceremony, which if successful could restore him to full health. Arriving in Mexico they stay at the home of Carmen's sister, where they will reside during their time there.
After the ceremony is performed it appears it was not successful, so Adrian and Carmen return to the U. S. However, after a good night's sleep he, now she, wakes up and finds that he has turned into a beautiful Mexican woman and can't speak English and her new native language is now Spanish. Join Adrian, now Adriana as she tries to navigate the process of learning to live as a Spanish speaking woman, as well as exploring the disturbing romantic feelings she has developed for a handsome immigration attorney.
