Gage has made it a policy to steer clear of human women, however, and he isn't terribly pleased when Talon insists on stopping to render aid. Unfortunately, Gage isn't immune despite his history. And the worst of it is knowing she's almost guaranteed to die when she goes through transition and not being able to stop himself from falling. Cheyenne is so grateful to be saved from the monsters that brutalized her it isn't until later that she discovers she crawled from the frying pan and into the fire--escaped the den of a werewolf pack and ended up in the lair of a wolfen pack.
