Résumé

What Kills a Skunk is the Publicity it Gives Itself. It does not rain but pours in the country of Ghestern Republic; corruption, stealing by public servant, political witch-hunting, assassinations, murder, and civil strife have stormed the nation. Generally; lawlessness has reared its ugly head in every household and dented the country's credibility nationally and internationally. In a country which used to be the bread basket for the African Continent, things fell apart in a wave of events never seen before.
Being the continent's political heavy weight in sound democracy; greed and conservative thinking at the highest office in the land had not only torn and shred to pieces the once colourful image and the beautiful smile of the nation, but held it hostage with fear and kept in bondage, starring death. A few avid readers of doom in the military intelligence, and among them junior commissioned cadet officers put their heads on the block to rescue the situation. Capt.
Maaparankwe, an MI agent, conspire to oust the state president in collaboration with his close allies. Even though relatively new in the military, his secondment to National Intelligence Agency (NIA), hence exposure to the country's core governance, sensitive state secrets, military strength, weaknesses and loopholes at the head of state's office makes him a deadly predator. Capt. Maaparankwe is a calculative spy with comprehensive superiority in critical domains of modern intelligence and warfare; well versed in cyber intelligence, signal intelligence, electronic and space based intelligence, master minds a coup plot code named, 'Operation: What kills a skunk is the publicity it gives itself.' In a strong military presence of five brigades, with the Fifth Brigade comprising of elite presidential guard, commandos and other special forces that heavily fortified the presidential guard; it is a sink or swim, make or break, hit or miss operation where more than what meets the eye is in the offing.
