The Wailing Woods

Mark and Sarah Morgan wanted a fresh start. Escaping the suffocating noise of the city, they moved their three children to an isolated cabin deep in the Wailing Woods. It was supposed to be a sanctuary of peace and nature. But the forest has been waiting for them. The silence of their new home is quickly shattered by agonizing, bone-rattling shrieks echoing from the dark tree line. The nightmare escalates as their young son begins obsessively drawing screaming mouths, the cabin walls bleed thick amber sap, and a baby monitor whispers to them in a stolen, lifeless voice.
Mark and Sarah soon realize they haven't bought a retreat. They have walked into a living trap. Their cabin sits directly above the feeding root of the Wailing Tree, an ancient, rabid parasite born from centuries of desecration and spilled blood. Now, the woods are starving, and the entity that haunts the freezing mist is hunting for a new toll. Cut off from the outside world by a shifting, malevolent landscape, the Morgan family must abandon reason and fight for their survival.
To save their children from being swallowed by the earth, Sarah and Mark must venture into the dark heart of the rot to sever the curse at its source. But how do you kill a forest that remembers every axe, and how do you hide from a monster that wears your own face?
